‘Ōlelo No'eau/Native Hawaiian proverb: “He kehau ho’oma’ema’e ke aloha”.

Love is like a cleansing dew…the cleansing power of aloha can soothe and heal; hurt, pain, and suffering yield to the healing power of aloha.”

Many Voices, Many Traditions Toolkit

The “Many Voices, Many Traditions,” Toolkit, a collaborative project between The Alaska Native Women’s Resource Center (AKNWRC), The Alliance of Tribal Coalitions to End Violence (ATCEV), The National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center (NIWRC), the Capacity Technical Assistance Team of The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), and Pouhana O Nā Wāhine, serves as a toolkit for FVPSA Formula Grantees to build strong and inclusive relationships with indigenous partners and communities. This toolkit provides users with foundational knowledge and historical context when working with indigenous peoples, important landmark decisions that have had an impact on tribal and indigenous communities, as well as more practical information about funding options and building equitable partnerships. Additional Resources

“I was born and raised on Molokai and have been blessed to be part of a family that has always been part of the fight to restore the sovereign rights of the Hawaiian people. As a survivor and having worked to implement cultural experiences in all that I do, I know we need to address domestic violence as Native Hawaiian women working closely with our kupuna who are rooted spiritually and culturally.”
